Exceptional Family Member Program
The Exceptional Family Member Program (EFMP) is a coordinated effort to support military families that have at least one family member with exceptional needs by providing information and community services referrals, educate families on community resources and assists families with accessing them. Resource information to include: national &; local services, early intervention &; child care options, offers recreational and educational events, Respite Care Information/Options, conducts Family Needs Assessments &; Family Service Plans (DD 3054), Relocation Assistance and School Information on Special Education.
Under the umbrella of the EFMP you have:
EFMP-FS (Family Support)
- EFMP-M (Medical)
- EFMP-A (Assignments)
The Family Support function provides information, referrals, parent education, and recreational events.
All three functions work together and with other military and civilian agencies to ensure EFMP families have an enhanced quality of life as they relocate around the world with their sponsors.
